    Dr Ben Todd

    CEO and Founder

    Ben has been involved in the fuel cell industry for more than 20 years. He completed his PhD in engineering at Cambridge University, working on the modelling of the Rolls-Royce solid oxide fuel cell system for power generation. Previously, he worked in R&D, technical and strategy roles for commercial and public sector projects, including at Cambridge Consultants and Johnson Matthey.

    Ben founded Arcola Energy – now Ballard Motive Solutions – in 2010 with the aim of bridging the gap between the development of new hydrogen technology and deployment-ready applications.

    Dr Richard Kemp-Harper

    Strategy Director

    Richard has extensive experience in the development and implementation of innovation strategies at national and sector levels, including leading the UK funding programmes for hydrogen and fuel cells for InnovateUK. He brings knowledge and connections in both transport and energy sectors and leads on business and partnership development across all areas of our work. He has a Chemistry degree and D.Phil from Oxford University in new techniques for medical imaging and is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

    Simon Mylius

    Engineering Director

    Simon is a Chartered Engineer with over a decade of experience in hydrogen and fuel cells. His experience spans the whole gamut of applications from 1W to 1MW and across portable, stationary (grid-connected & off-grid), automotive, aerospace and off-highway applications. He has led design and build teams on all aspects - including fuel cell stacks, fuel cell modules, compressed hydrogen storage, chemical hydrogen production, in-situ natural gas reforming, hydrogen compression and refuelling, high power batteries (cell to full system), high voltage power distribution, thermal management, electric drives, hybrid vehicle control systems and full vehicle integration.
