At Ballard Motive Solutions I work as a control software engineer, where I develop embedded software to support ongoing projects in the automotive/rail industry and commission/troubleshoot sub-systems, liaising with other team members. The best part about my role is I get to see the software in motion.
I have a bachelor’s degree in robotics and automation from the University of Pune, India, and a master’s degree in automotive electronics from Coventry University, UK. I have been working in the automotive industry for more than five years, mainly in electric mobility before joining BMS.
The industry uncertainty that came with the pandemic has given me the opportunity to switch to a job more aligned towards my background. When I joined BMS, I observed how busy we were with ongoing/upcoming projects – like our display of train, bus and RCV for electric mobility at the COP26 event in Glasgow. I am happy and proud that I was able to be a part of it and that BMS has given me the chance to utilise my skills and abilities to work on something I care about.
In my spare time, I enjoy tinkering with embedded systems, working on weekend projects related to the Internet of Things and automation. I also like to listen to music, cooking and going for casual walks.
